GENERAL:

We've got a lot going on! You can also look at the CALENDAR on this website every week to see an overview of all classes. Please do this just before coming in case there are last-minute changes! (Scroll down on this page for class listings.)

- Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) classes for kids 8-18 each weekend for five different skill levels and we've just added a new recreational fun class for kids 8-11. There is also an outdoor class (OAAP1) and extra Wednesday evening practice for advanced and competitive archers. Come and have some fun shooting with your friends !

- Adult Sunday Meetups for beginning to advanced and competitive archers through our adult program: Austin Target Archers. These are social meetups for the fun of shooting together! You don't need any experience, so come join us and show us what you can do!

- Private lessons with Alex Meyer, USA Jr. Dream Team and Regional Coach

- USAA Instructor Certification courses - If you want to be an archery instructor - or just learn more about archery!

- "Intro to Archery" birthday, class, camp outing, home school, corporate, or senior sessions where you can schedule a separate fun time for all your friends and co-workers!

AUSTIN TARGET ARCHERS ADULT MEETUPS 

It's a fun social meetup group for men and women (18-80) who want to have a good time together. If you're interested, you need to go to http://archery.meetup.com/14. where you'll find lots more info. We take a maximum of 16 adult archers each week. First lesson: $20 for two hours; Meetups = $15 for 1.5 hours

JUNIOR OLYMPIC CLASSES:  REGISTER NOW !  

Classes are year-round. You can join any week. Our Spring classes start on March 20. We look forward to welcoming you.

Indoor 1: First-time class. No experience necessary! Register for available Saturday 1:30-3:30. $20/archer. Please register for your first class HERE.

Recreational Archers: Ages 8-11; Saturdays 10:30-11:30 $10/archer. Prerequisite: Qualify at 9m in Indoor 1. Just fun for the younger archer!

Indoor 2: Beginners at 9 m. Saturdays 12:00-1:30 $15/archer for 1.5 hours, and/or Sundays Open Indoor Practice 12:00-2:00 $10/archer for first hour; $15/archer for two hours. Prerequisite: 50 pts. at 9m in Indoor 1. Recommended attendance: 1.5 to 2 hours/week; Arrows: 30-60 arrows/session.

Indoor 3: Achievers at 13.5 m and 18m; Saturdays 12:00-1:30 $15/archer for 1.5 hours, and/or Sundays Open Indoor Practice 12:00-2:00 $10/archer for first hour; $15/archer for two hours. Prerequisite: 240 pts. at 9m in Indoor 2. Recommended attendance: 1.5 to 2 hours/week; Arrows: 30-60 arrows/session

Indoor 4: Advanced at 18 m; Saturdays 1:30-3:30 and Sundays 2:00-4:00. Prerequisite: 200 pts. twice at 18m in Indoor 3. Wednesdays 6:30-8:30: Prerequisite: Coach Alex's approval, compete in min. of one local tournament. All classes: Min. of two hours $10/archer for two hours. Recommended attendance: 4 hours/week; Arrows: 60-90 arrows/session.

Indoor 5: Competitive at 18 m; Saturdays 1:30-3:30 and Sundays 2:00-4:00. Prerequisite: 250 pts. at 18m in Indoor 4. Wednesdays 6:30-8:30: Prerequisite: Coach Alex's approval, compete in min. of one local tournament. All classes: Min. of two hours $10/archer for two hours. Recommended attendance: 9 hours/week; Arrows: 90-120 arrows/session.

OAAP1: Advanced Outdoor at 15 m - 90 m, depending on age category; Saturdays 1:30-3:30 (weather permitting) and/or Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 (when it's light): Prerequisite: Coach Alex's approval, own bow, 200 pts. at 18m twice in Indoor 3. All classes: Min. of two hours $10/archer for two hours. Recommended attendance: 4 hours/week; Arrows: 36-72 arrows/session.

OAAP2: Competitive Outdoor at 15 m - 90 m, depending on age category; Saturdays 1:30-3:30 (weather permitting) and/or Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 (when it's light): Prerequisite: Coach Alex's approval, own bow, 1100 recurve/1200 compound at FITA distances for age category in OAAP 1. Min. of two hours $10/archer for two hours. Recommended attendance: 4 hours/week; Arrows: 36-72 arrows/session.

"INTRO TO ARCHERY" GROUP SESSIONS

Call us at 512 436 8813 or contact us through this website to arrange an "Intro to Archery" birthday, family reunion, class, camp outing, home school, corporate, or senior session! The fee is $20/person for groups of 5 to 16 prospective archers for two hours. Ages: 8 - 80 ! We have times open on the weekends in our COOL indoor range....so give us a call to have some fun with your friends and co-workers! (It's great for team building!) We'll provide all the equipment you'll need.

INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION CLASSES:

We encourage parents and JOAD archers 16 or older to become certified USA Archery instructors. Certification classes are held periodically for those who would like to coach at Austin JOAD Archers, and will be announced on our website in advance. Our USA Archery-certified instructors, who coach on a full-time, part-time, or fill-in basis, shoot free during practice and class times on the weekends. AISD OFF-CAMPUS PE CREDIT CLASSES: CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY IF YOU WANT TO ENROLL FOR THE 2010 SPRING SEMESTER!

We are an AISD Off-Campus PE Agency, which means AISD students in Grades 7-12 can apply before the beginning of the school semester to receive PE credit by attending 5 hours of archery per week. 90% attendance is required to pass the course for the semester.  Fees: Indoor 2 Beginners/Indoor 3 Achievers: $675; Indoor 4 Advanced/Indoor 5 Competitive: $450. You can pay by at the first lesson of each week, 6-week period, or 18-week semester. If you are interested, please contact us at 436 8813 or through this website. Times: Depends on level (see class schedule above). Our Spring Classes are on Saturdays and Sundays, with Indoor 4 and Indoor 5 practice on Wednesday evenings.   Location: Indoors: 10203 Old Manchaca Road, Austin, 78748 (enter through brown door). Deadline for AISD Spring 2009 semester PE waivers to be at AISD offices: PE waivers must be signed by us and your child's school counselor and turned in to AISD preferably the week of Dec. 6; final deadline: midnight on Jan. 5.
