Tournament results

Congratulations to our 2009 Austin JOAD Archers Tournament Team for doing really great at their first tournament as a team at the Texas State JOAD Indoor Championship at UT Austin. KIRAN, GRAHAM, and PATRICK all shot their personal bests! In the male recurve bowman division KIRAN got 1st place, NICHOLAS 3rd place, and PATRICK 4th place. In the male recurve cub division (which is highly competitive) Graham got 5th place in his first year! Congrats to all!

Feb. 8, 2009: 14th ANNUAL FAMILY FUN TOURNAMENT at Austin JOAD Archers. This is the BIG ONE where we hand out Top Achiever of the Year awards. Mark your calendars now! Feb. 13-15, 2009: 27th TEXAS STATE INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS at UT Austin in the Anna Hiss Gym. Register at: http://www.texasarchery.org/Registrations/09/Indoor/SIreg.htm   Deadline: Feb. 4 postmarked. FITA at 18 meters (120 arrows in two rounds of 60, 3 arrows per end) during two time slots. All archers shoot at 40-cm target faces. Fees: Adults: $25, Youth $20.. Questions? Feb. 27-March 1: 40th US NATIONAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS and NATIONAL JOAD INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS at Texas A&M College Station. Register at: http://www.usarchery.org/userfiles/file/2009%20Nat%27l%20Ind%20FINALrev.pdf    DEADLINE: Feb. 9 Important: There are two tournaments the same weekend: Nationals and JOAD Nationals. They have separate registration forms! As a JOAD, you need to register for the JOAD INDOOR on SAT, FEB. 28 at 1p.m. (This is 60 arrows during one shooting time.)  If you want to shoot the Nationals too, you'll need to register under your age category in the Youth Division (This is 120 arrows at two other shooting times during the tournament weekend.) If you shoot both, you will be shooting 180 arrows in one weekend at 3 different shooting times. If you are an adult, you obviously register for the NATIONALS. If you need help, just ask Alex or Racae during JOAD.
